Sourdough Bread Days
My sister picked up the ever-useful skill of sourdough bread making during quarantine. After a failed attempt at a starter from scratch, her second one proved successful. By loaf number three, the bread was airy and the crust that perfect thin crunch, where you don’t have to work your jaw to death, but there is still that feeling of breaking through the exterior to the soft inside. I could sit and have her pass me perfectly thin slices until the entire loaf is gone, that is how much I love her sourdough bread.
At the beginning of quarantine, my sis and I watched a lot of Bon Appetite Test Kitchen YouTube (Before all the accounts of discrimination came to light, now I don’t watch anymore). These videos inspired a bread photoshoot. One of my many dream careers is a food photographer. This could be the start, but probs not, but it was fun. When our days were filled with absolutely nothing, taking a few hours to paint backdrops and stage the photos was a welcomed way to pass the time.
