International Surf Therapy Symposium 2019
Last fall, I interviewed Kris Primaco, CEO of the International Surf Therapy Organization (ISTO). I wrote an article about how ISTO’s global coalition was using their partnership to truly embody their motto, “Go far, go together,” advancing surf therapy globally. ISTO brings together surf therapy organizations, practitioners, and advocates from around the world to advance surf therapy globally.
I have witnessed surf therapy in action, and it really works. Watching veterans, people with disabilities, and kids of all ages take to the water with an instructor to find empowerment and healing in the ocean is truly incredible.
ISTO hosted its first global facing symposium in El Segundo, CA this November and I had the honor of photographing a few of the days. These are a few especially meaningful moments I captured as I rubbed elbows with some world changers.
